From last lesson I decided to add an image of my model for the article "death of hip hop?" I made the model look like he is praying as deaths associated with god/heaven. I added red lines to separate the text from the other articles. The next part I am going to add is the images and brief information for the main articles.

Introduction:

Hip hop artist Kian takes a visit to the Trilla magazine Office in Central London. He brought banter, talent and good vibes The studio lit up before he sat for the interview. Tre Bailey interviews Kian on a quick exclusive Q&A provided by Trilla Magazine!

Kian Desino-Shane but also known as Kian is a young London born Hip hop artist who shot to fame in 2014 with his hit song “life knocks”. The 22-year-Old has now been on tour, won the Mobo up and coming artist award and is getting ready to release an Album titled Faded. Kian is here, new and fresh after putting a pause on his music career to go on tour with Craig David and Kendrick Lamar in the US.

What word describes you the most and why?

The word that describes me the most would be Goofy [laughs] I am a natural clown. I love pranking and making jokes with my music team. My life long motto is a laugh a day keeps the doctor away unless you have the flu [laughs] but on a serious note banter helps the most when creating music.

hen did you have a key interest in music?

I had a key interest in music since day one. My mum once told me I used to sing random things and phrases before I learned how to speak properly! Church was my first real stage, me and my two sisters used to lead choir.  Music has always been in my life[smile]. It ruins through my veins, it’s my everything.

So, your new album faded is out this January, what influenced your album?

The album faded took me 3 months to write, 1 month to record and 2 months to edit to what I can call it lyrical perfection. What influenced my album? I can say the cliché things like family ect.. but really it was my late-night antics of being young and having fun[Laugh] The songs “wiped” and “for her” was about a night out which where I ended up waking up in a hotel room. Fun times really. The sound and the idea was inspired from church as I like to incorporate that into things. The albums out in January people!

 How was touring with Craig David and Kendrick Lamar?
It was lit!  I enjoyed their company. 20 cities, 2 countries amazing. Craig is so nice; he was like a father figure to me on the road. Craig taught me how to curl my voice. My favourite night was when we were in Liverpool. The crowd knew my name, I felt like a king. Kendrick Lamar is dope he just released his new album “how to pimp a butterfly” we performed most of it throughout the tour. Kendrick and Craig are my real brothers. I am privilege to work and tour with artist now friends.

If you could perform with any artist who would it be and why? 
This is a difficult question, there’s so many people to choose from but I would say Michael Jackson because who wouldn’t want to sing with the king of pop. Michs music is lit and his concerts are too good. Imagine the king of pop meets me the king of hip hop quite dope.

How is the music scene in east London?

The East scene is changing and becoming better. There are so many new artist getting signed this year and there are so many undercover artists too. I came from the East scene and I’m proud of it! Becoming well known is hard but once you get some fame that’s when your career fully starts. Look at Kano he is doing well for himself and he grew up there so anything can happen really.

Kian music has been dope for a long time we see a big and bright future for this young star. Faded his new album is out in January 2017.But for you, Trilla and Kian provided a sneak peak of the album faded on the Trilla website.

Second Double Page Spread

I have decided to chose a image to create a first  page for my double page spread. Firstly I chose a medium long shot in order to show my artist.

Firstly, I decided that kian needed a brief introduction for the artist so that the audience can understand the artist better. I made the title font white and stretched the letters to make them longer. 

Front Cover:

I changed the idea of the masthead being behind the artist and placed it in front of him to show the brand more . I also decided to place lines between each cover line 

Double Page Spread:

I started by placing the logo of kian and placing a yellow halo over the letter k. I decided to i then added my responses of some of the q&a and placed it on the page. i highlighted the question in read and the response in black 

Lesson Update : content page and front page

content page: 

i decided to focus on my images for my content page. Firstly i needed 6 images to represent my main feature articles. 

For my first article kickin it with Kian i decided to use images from the photo shoot of Kian. the image i used was a long mid shot of him laying down. I used it as the orientation fitted the spacing i wanted to use in my content page.

I  decided to have one side of my dps just with images. This is the layout of my images:

I positioned them according to the number of the page they are on. Each of the features has an image due to the visual readers. Also i feel like they were the most important

I added a page number of each of the articles. I used the red and white theme which is seen continuously. my images are relevant to the articles.







Front page:


Firstly i changed the front cover and placed a mid shot of kian and added the cover lines that i wanted to include. I positioned him in front of the masthead however im not sure if im going to keep him as the rubbing out of his hair looks choppy.

LESSON UPDATE: FRONT COVER , DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

 The first half of the lesson i focused on my front cover I added the issue number and date. I changed the font of the text to myriad pro bold. I also changed the colour of the coverlines however I prefer when they are black as the white is hard to see, i might consider placing a black outline or changing it all to black. I decided to remove the skyline and use the space more efficiently and move my masthead higher.

The second part of the lesson i decided to add text to my double page spread. I added an interview with the cover star in a Q&A format. I placed it roughly where it is going to be due to the timing of the lesson nearly finished. I then added a ring around the K as i liked how it looked also the crown would have made it to complicated so i decided to leave it simplistic. The next part that i am going to do is add my photography onto the front cover and double page spread. 

CONTENT PAGE CONSTRUCTION

Firstly I set up my content page using the software Indesign. I wrote out the heading contents and place it at the top of my page. i then divided my content into two sections which are features and regulars. I then wrote out my features and then my regulars. I added lines in order to separate the sections. I then used boxes to represent the images I am going to place.

I created a prop for my content page as I didnt want to use an image from online so replicated it.The picture is from Kayne West album yeezus.

I created my double page spread using the software indesign. I replicated my double page spread which I created on Microsoft word. I added my title for the article which is kickin it with kian. I used informal language as it appeals to words and phrases my target audience would understand. I then decided to make the letter k big as it represents his name as well as a brand name. to improve I am going to add the final image of Kian who is my main cover star and write the article. I am also going to add a crown onto the K so it looks more like a logo of Kian.
